About

The Murphy Standard.

A sourcing operation with a storefront attached — not a shop that happens to buy things.

Where this came from

Years of Top-Rated selling.

Thousands of transactions on eBay and Mercari, a Top-Rated badge, and a reputation built one accurate description at a time.

Why direct

The fees stopped making sense.

Marketplace fees came off the top of every sale. Selling direct keeps that margin where it does some good — in the price you see.

What you get

The same rigour, without the middleman.

Honest grades, photographed batch codes, and a description that tells you what is wrong with an item as readily as what is right.

Sourcing

Two pipelines feed one floor.

🖥️

Tech

Liquidation manifests and asset-recovery channels — TechLiquidators lots, corporate lease returns, distributor open-box. Bought by the pallet, sold by the unit.

  • Read the manifest first. Every line item, before a bid.
  • Bench it. Power on, load test, battery health, IMEI or serial check.
  • Clear it. MDM enrolment and activation locks removed, documented.
🫧

Health & Beauty

Club-store pallets and boutique overstock — Costco health and beauty lots, department-store closeouts, authentic house testers.

  • Seal first. Cellophane and factory seal checked on arrival.
  • Batch codes photographed. On the listing, not just on file.
  • Dates disclosed. Short-dated stock is labelled short-dated.

The standard

Four promises, plainly stated.

01

Authenticity, guaranteed.

Sourced exclusively from verified liquidators, authorised distributors and club-store channels. Never grey-market decants, never refilled bottles.

02

Physically inspected.

Nothing gets listed sight-unseen. If a unit fails inspection it does not reach the site, and the loss stays on our side of the transaction.

03

Flaws in the listing, not the fine print.

A scuff on a lid, seven months to a best-by date, a plain tester cap — it goes in the description and in the photos, where you will actually see it.

04

Priced against reality.

Every price is checked against what the category actually clears for, not against a wishful markup on what the pallet cost.

Condition grading

Two vocabularies, because two kinds of goods.

"Grade B" means something precise for a laptop and nothing at all for a serum. Each department uses the language its buyers actually understand.

Pricing

Per category. Never flat.

A single store-wide markup would be wrong in both directions at once — leaving money on the table in beauty while pricing tech out of the market. So each category carries its own target margin, its own floor, and its own realistic share of MSRP.

Category Target margin Floor Clears at % of MSRP

These are the live numbers the listing wizard reasons with — edit them in assets/js/store.js and both the wizard and this table follow.

Logistics

Shipping

Dispatch: 24–48 hours, tracked on every order.

Tech: boxed and insured via UPS or DHL Express.

Health & beauty: flat-rate, padded, leak-guarded.

Mixed orders: combined into one shipment at the higher rate.

Free shipping over .

Returns

The window

14 days on functional defects or shipping errors, either department.

Tech: returnable if it does not perform to its stated grade.

Sealed beauty: returnable unopened, in original packaging.

Opened fragrance and skincare cannot be accepted back — a hygiene limit, and the reason those prices are what they are.
